Pools

Jump In, the Water’s Safe & Clean!

The Union County Health Department works with pool operators to keep swimmers safe from communicable diseases and drowning hazards. As part of the pool safety program our sanitarians inspect and license all public swimming pools, spas, hot tubs and splash pads. Sanitarians check for proper disinfectant usage and levels as well as general drowning and injury prevention risks as prescribed in the Ohio Revised Code. Summer pools are usually checked every two weeks during the operating season. Indoor pools are checked less often, but throughout the entire year.
