Beat the Rush on Back To School Shots
We want your child to have a safe and healthy school year. Get your child’s
immunizations now before the back to school rush and long lines in August.
The Union County Health Department provides back to school shots. Students
entering Kindergarten and 7th grades for the 2003-2004 school year will
need to receive the following vaccines:
• To enter Kindergarten students will need 5 doses of DTaP (Diphtheria,
Tetanus, and Pertussis), 4 doses of IPV (Inactivated Polio Virus), 2 doses
of MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), and 3 doses of Hepatitis B.
• To enter 7th grade students must have 2 doses of the MMR vaccine.
The Union County Health Department provides several immunization clinics
each month. Clinics in Richwood are offered the 1st Thursday of the month
from 9:00-11:30 A.M. at the Richwood Mills Center, 21 N. Franklin St.
In Marysville, clinics are offered the 2nd & 4th Wednesday’s of the
month from 8:30-11:30 A.M. at the Union County Health Department, 940
London Ave., Suite 1100. Additionally, an evening clinic is available
on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 3:00-6:30 P.M. The cost per vaccine
is $6.00 for county residents but no one is turned away for inability
