School Liaison

As your local provider of public health services, we continue to work with our schools to provide health education, safety inspections, health screenings, immunization clinics and other services to promote the health and safety of Union County children.

In an effort to better serve the school community, the Union County Health Department is introducing a school liaison. The role of the school liaison is to serve as the primary contact for schools in working with the Health Department and to tailor programs and services to fit the needs of the school community.

The school liaison will be available to assist schools with:

Coordinating health department services
Curriculum development
Health education programming
Health promotion
Health related resource development

Julie Armstrong is our Health Educator and our school liaison. Julie has knowledge of public relations, research and resource development, community organizing and health education. She is available to consult with teachers, staff, nurses, administration, and PTO groups as needed.
