To promote and implement concepts pertinent to the goal of responsible solid waste management in the home, business, and overall community. Concepts

The Division of Recycling and Litter Prevention conducts environmental education programs for students and adults, distributes community awareness publications, assists in office and facility recycling and coordination, and helps organize volunteer litter clean-ups of roadways and public areas. Funding for these activities comes annually from the "Recycle, Ohio!" grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Recycling and Litter Prevention. The North Central Ohio Solid Waste Management District and various jurisdictions provide the required matching funds.
