What is the cost?

GuardCare is a completely free healthcare event. There are no fees for any services performed that day. Nothing is billed to insurance or the patient. This is possible because of the generosity of Memorial Health and a partnership with the Union County Health Department, Ohio National Guard, and the Ohio Department of Health. Medical professionals are volunteering their time. Medical supplies are being donated by Memorial Health, the Health Department, and the Ohio Department of Health.

Who can come?

Any Ohioan can come to GuardCare. There is no restrictions or requirements. Services are available for adults and children. This event is ideal for those who have put off preventative and routine healthcare because of high insurance deductibles, lack of insurance, or inability to find a medical provider.

What is GuardCare?

GuardCare is a partnership of the Union County Health Department, Ohio National Guard, Memorial Health, and the Ohio Department of Health. The Ohio National Guard provides GuardCare once a year. This year, the Ohio National Guard selected the Union County Health Department's application to bring GuardCare to Union County. GuardCare is a test of the Ohio National Guard's medical units ability to respond to a need for mass medical services, and a way to give back to local communities.

The Union County Health Department applied to bring GuardCare to Union County to help ensure everyone has access to healthcare. In Union County, we know there are adults and children going without medical care. The Health Department's goal for the event is to get those Union County adults and children into the local healthcare network. GuardCare is also a test of the Union County Health Department's emergency response plans. Please help us test our response plans by coming to GuardCare Aug. 12 or 13.
