H3N2v Cases Confirmed in Union County Featured

The Union County Health Department is reporting 3 lab confirmed cases of H3N2v in Union County. H3N2v is a variant of influenza A viruses that can be transmitted from pigs to people. We are asking people who have had recent contact with swine or swine exhibits to be on the look-out for flu-like illness. If individuals who have had recent contact with swine or swine exhibits develop flu-like symptoms, they are encouraged to contact their doctor and ask if flu testing is recommended.

It is important to note, you can NOT get H3N2v from eating or handling pork meat. It is safe to continue enjoying pork meant products.
